To summarize, from another of his friends:
"My best friend Cal is in desperate need of help. He's a 29 year old trans man, who has been living with his family due to having issues with income. He's self employed and makes a living selling amigarumis because he is unable to work a full time job due to chronic pain.
Earlier today, after a verbal altercation with his father, who has been consistently unsupportive and detrimental to his emotional health, he attempted to end his life via overdose.
He's now in the hospital, possibly facing a stay in the psychiatric ward, but does not have insurance. He's going to be facing huge medical bills now, on top of his existing money troubles.
We'd also like to, if possible, get enough funding for him to be able to leave the toxic environment he's stuck in.
Please help, any little bit makes a difference. Even if you can't donate, please share this with your friends. I'm worried that the added stress of the medical bills will only make him try again."
There is a fund drive being held for him here. Several artists, including Iron-Hearted and Moontoon, are offering art in exchange for certain donation amounts, so if you've been looking for a commission as of late, this is a good cause for it. I am planning on adding some of my own art to the pool, with simple line drawings (colorless or flat colors) like the following:
which will probably be around the $5-10 mark. Again, all proceeds will go to Cal--I'll update with a new journal once I get everything set up.
The $10,000 mark is mainly a guesstimate of his medical and moving costs--we probably won't raise that much, but our main goal is to raise as much as possible, so anything will help. If donations are impossible, shares are appreciated as well.

Commissioning to help a friend in need.
UPDATE: All slots are filled! Thank you to everyone who donated--I've finished one request, but I haven't heard from the other two commissioners yet. If you're reading this, please refer to the rest of this journal for details on how to confirm your donation/request.
A friend of mine, a great person and a lovely artist who has been struggling with work due to chronic health issues, recently attempted suicide. Help was able to arrive in time, but he is now in the hospital, facing huge medical bills on top of pre-existing financial issues. To help him out, several artists are offering art in exchange for certain donation levels. You can see th

(writing this mainly to get my overly-long previous entry off my front page--I'm not sure if dA has a "Read More" HTML tag or not.)
As mentioned on my formal lit account, Falareste (https://www.deviantart.com/falareste), a number of things changed with life. The most important one, at least regarding this account, is that I've decided to allocate more time to learning how to draw well, giving up MMO gaming in the process. While I might log on every so often to check out updates, I'm effectively done with MMOs. I'm going to miss Tyria sorely, but I've been short on time for months, and ultimately had to decide between art or GW2. I just hope that one day, I'll be skilled enou
What is a tulpa? (and a bit about my own tulpa)
Adapted from my tulpamancy blog for dA so I'd have a quick, comment-able link to reference for the future.

What is a tulpa?
The most broadly accepted definition, from the /r/tulpas subreddit wiki:
While everyone has their own interpretation, a common definition of tulpa agreeable across our guides, FAQs and glossary:
A tulpa is believed to be an autonomous consciousness, existing within their creator’s mind, often with a form of their creator’s initial choice and design.
A tulpa is entirely sentient and in control of their opinions, feelings, form and movement.
They are willingly created by people via a number of techni

After a return from a long and unexpected hiatus (detailed in this journal entry), I'm finally back on dA. I probably won't be too active on this account, since I'll be spending most of my time working on my lit account and building up my writing, but I do hope to be active on both, eventually.
About this account: Falareste (https://www.deviantart.com/falareste) is my "formal" account. I use it as a portfolio for my original writing and writing-related activities. I still have interests outside of original literature, though- all sorts of graphic art, including fanart, and fanfiction as well. As such, I created Falunel (https://www.deviantart.com/falunel) to accommodate those interests and serve as my "cas
